Boys L7/8 Select Coaches
Charlie Bourgeois: About Me – I have been coaching BYLA Select teams since 2019, and I have been the head coach of the BYLA L78 Boys Select team since 2021. Our 2021 L78 Select team went undefeated and won the MYL State DII Championship. I was also named MYL All-Star Team Head Coach that same year. I graduated from Billerica High School in 2014. I played varsity lacrosse for Billerica as an attackman, where we won three MVC Titles and made two DI MA State semi-finals appearances. After graduating high school, I attended Salem State University, where I played DIII lacrosse. I was a two-year starting attackman, season point leader, and named captain my senior year.
Ed Stokes: About Me- I grew up in Billerica playing youth lacrosse. I graduated from Billerica High School in 2014. I played varsity lacrosse all four years and started as the LSM junior and senior year. Senior year I was named All-MVC, All-Conference, and Agganis All-Star. After graduation, I attended Lasell University and started my freshmen year as their LSM in DIII. After my freshman year, I transferred to Salem State University DIII lacrosse program and started at LSM Junior and Senior years. I have been coaching for BYLA since 2020. I’ve been the assistant coach and defensive coordinator for the L78 Select team since 2021 when we went undefeated and won the MYL DII state championship.
Boys L5/6 Select Coaches
Nevin Kriger: About Me - I started playing lacrosse through the Burlington youth lacrosse program when I was seven. I was a member of the classic and select teams in the BYLA program. I played my club ball for HGR from 7-12th grade. I attended Burlington High '17, where I was a four-year varsity player, three-year varsity starter, two-time Middlesex league all-star, and a team captain my senior year. After BHS, I attended Franklin Pierce University to play DII lacrosse as a starting freshman midfielder. After my freshman year at FPU, I transferred to the University of Vermont, where I played fall ball with the DI program before deciding to put my playing days behind me and focus on my studies. I am now a personal trainer and nutrition coach for high-level high school/collegiate athletes and general health populations.
Dakota Ikier: About me - Like Nevin, I, too, began my lacrosse career in the Burlington youth program. I was a member of both the classic and select teams and played club lacrosse at HGR. I attended Burlington High '17, where I was a four-year varsity player, three-year varsity starter, Middlesex league all-star, and a team captain my senior year. After graduation, I attended Franklin Pierce to play DII lacrosse as a defenseman. I chose to stay at FPU and played lacrosse for all four years.
Girls L7/8 Select Coaches
Sabrina Alimi grew up in Syracuse, NY where she started playing lacrosse at a young age. She went on to play four years of varsity Lacrosse at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where she graduated with a degree in Electronic, Media, and Arts Communications and a minor in Marketing. Sabrina lived in Manhattan for thirteen years playing post-collegiate lacrosse and coaching for Doc’s NYC before moving to Burlington. While in NYC she sat on the CityLax Inc Junior Advisory Board and volunteered her time to bring lacrosse to New York City Public schools. Sabrina is excited to start her third year coaching for Burlington town and second select season.
BYLA Select Director
Ryan Doherty graduated from Burlington High School in 2014. As a Red Devil, he was a four-year varsity letter winner where he specialized as a long stick midfielder and defensemen. In his senior season, he was named captain, awarded the team’s most valuable player award, and was the Burlington Youth Lacrosse Association scholarship recipient. After Burlington, Doherty went on to play DIII lacrosse at Salem State University where he saw immediate action as a freshman. As a Viking, he earned two varsity letters and two NCAA Scholar-Athlete Awards (freshman and sophomore years respectively). After competing for two years at Salem State, he decided to put his playing days behind him to take a coaching opportunity with his former coach and team at BHS. Since 2016, Ryan has been an assistant coach on the Burlington High School varsity coaching staff. Since 2018 he has been heavily involved in Burlington Youth Lacrosse Association, where he serves as the Boys Select Director and Coach. In 2021 BYLA 7/8 select team won DII MBYLL State Championship. He has been selected as an MBYLL All Star Coach twice. In 2020 he co-founded Burlington’s own, “Lil Devs” lacrosse summer camp. He also coaches with HGR Lacrosse and Beantown Lacrosse Club Programs.
